An Exclusive Interview with Mary @ Buried Under Romance + Giveaway (Thank you, Authors! Thank you, Fellow Readers!)

Meet Mary. She hosts Throwback Thursday: Historical Romance Edition with me and Ki Pha. She is also my daily Facebook chat. I met Mary through Goodreads when I decided to be "more active" there and I got to discover her reviews. Now I am a fan and follower of them.

We both read Historical Romance and Mary has noticed on several occasions how we like the same books but for different reasons -- which has, I think, added a new dimension and perspective to how we read and write about the books we love.

I'm glad we host TBT:HR Edition together and it's one of the highlights of my week to visit her post and then everyone else's posts and just be so delighted by the books we picked for the week.

LStW: What inspired you to review books?
Mary @ Buried Under Romance: Hmm, that’s actually a hard question for me to answer. I think I started reviewing when someone told me that reviewers can receive advance reading copies. LOL. I was always more of a reader than a writer, and I desperately wanted advance copies of books I’ve been wanting to read, so I thought, why not start reviewing? A year later, here I am.

LStW: (Halloween) If you could dress up as any character, real or fictional, who would it be?
Mary: I’d love to dress up as Queen Elizabeth I. There’s something magical in pretending to be England’s famous Virgin Queen, I think.

LStW: (Thanksgiving) As a blogger/reviewer, what are three things that you are most thankful for?
Mary: As a new blogger, I am very thankful for my blogging friends who patiently answered all of my questions (that’s you, Tin!) regarding the how and what of blogging. As a reviewer, I am thankful to the authors who provide feedback on the kinds of reviews they find helpful, and also, to authors to ask me to review their book. It always brings me joy when an author deems me worthy enough to review her book.

LStW: (Christmas) Do you have a favorite thing to gift friends for Christmas?
Mary: My friends like many things, so I found the safest way to satisfy them is to give a giftcard to a shop they frequent.

LStW: (New Year) What's next for Buried Under Romance?
Mary: More reviews, blog tours, interviews, and guest posts. I’m also contacting some authors on my own to arrange for features on my blog, and will also have more giveaways. Stay tuned!
